Morro de sao paulo: a place to return to
Set on the cliffs of tinharé island, at the entrance to the bay of all saints( baia de todos os santos), Morro de Sao Paulo has its own unique beauty. Instead of just describing it, even better is to walk down its sandy streets, visit the beaches with their warm, crytalclear waters, explore the forest, whitch surprisingly enough are inhabited by many differente types of birds and marmosets. Morro, as it is affectionately known by the local inhabitants, is a cosmopolitan place, where comfort, nature and entertainment meet to transform this old pirate hideout into a place where peace and an agitated social life blend together.
Finding your way around- getting acquainted with the local landmarks is not that difficult. Beaches are numbered, starting from the morro de sao Paulo village.
The first beach is good for surfing, the second offers an agitated social life, the third, natural pools, and at the fourth and praia do encanto( the enchanted beach) peace and quiet reign absolute along their many miles of almost deserted beaches. Before entering the village and the harbor, you will find Gamboa, offering nautical sports.
The only crowding you’ll have to face here is body to body contact. For from the beach, you’ll find the so-called Eco-road, which connects the village to the praia do encanto. No private cars exist around here. The inns offer bus transport and 4WD vehicles for their guests, which take visitors from the village up to praia do encanto. The most usual form of inland transportation is to walk, pure and simple, but you can also find horses, kayaks and boats to rent.
The facts- if you are an adrenaline fan, you may give the tyrolean traverse a try. If you prefer wind and water sports, try the sail club at Pousada Natureza, at Gamboa beach, to the north. And if you just want to enjoy the beach, there are 40 km of sand at your disposal-in addition to many restaurants, bars, and top quality inns.
Tradition has it that every night is Saturday night on this small island, with many excellent options available in the local village.
